NEP-2020 is the first education policy of the twenty-first century which was announced after 34 years of the previous National Policy on Education was declared in 1986. NEP-2020 is directed towards initiating major reforms in primary, secondary, and higher education. National Education Policy focuses on the principle that education is an integral part of achieving full human potential, developing an equitable and just society, and promoting national development. The main objective of the National Education Policy is to transform India into an equitable and vibrant society of knowledge. It incorporates with India-centric educational system that contributes directly towards transforming India into a knowledge acquired super-power nation. The comprehensive transformation aimed through effective implementation of NEP is expected to bring about a paradigm shift in the country’s educational system and create a reinforced ecosystem for realizing ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ envisaged by the Honourable Prime Minister of India-Shri. Narendra Modi Ji. The policy advocates for various factors related to professional education, adult education and lifelong learning, promotion of Indian technology, and integration along with online and digital education. It is guided towards intensive introspection to emerge innovation in broad-spectrum concepts like Academic Bank of Credit (ABC), multiple exit options with the appropriate certification, and restructuring of higher education institutions, especially in the tribal-state like Jharkhand. It is heartening to note that various Webinars, Virtual Conferences, and Conclaves on various aspects of National Education Policy – 2020 are being organized across the country by several academic institutions since it is believed that academic institutions have a greater role to contribute towards the implementation of NEP with full spirit. R. V. S. College of Engineering and Technology, Jamshedpur in association with the Jharkhand University of Technology, Ranchi is organizing this conclave on “National Education Policy (NEP.2020)” on the occasion of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” celebrating the 75th year of independence. The conclave will be held on 13th June 2022 at R.V.S. College of Engineering and Technology, Jamshedpur campus.
