The Science Day celebration at R. V. S. College of Engineering and Technology (RVSCET), Jamshedpur, held on Friday, 28th February 2025, was a remarkable event organized by the NSS wing of the college. The event commenced with a traditional lighting of the lamp accompanied by Vedic chanting, performed by Dr. Subrata Mahato, setting a solemn and reverential tone for the occasion.
The welcome address was delivered by the Principal, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, who warmly greeted the attendees and emphasized the importance of National Science Day in fostering scientific temper among young minds. He urged the students to take inspiration from scientific pioneers and contribute to advancements in technology and innovation.
In attendance were the Treasurer Mr. Satrugana Sing, along with all Deans, Heads of Departments (HODs), faculty members, and a large number of students. Their presence highlighted the significance of the event and the collective commitment to the celebration of science and its contributions to society.
The NSS Coordinator, Dr. D. K. Haldar, delivered a short yet impactful speech focusing on the Raman Effect. He explained the groundbreaking discovery of Sir C.V. Raman and its lasting impact on the scientific world. Dr. Haldar also emphasized the relevance of National Science Day, urging the students to appreciate the contributions of science to modern life and to remain curious and motivated in their academic journeys.
A significant portion of the celebration featured a presentation by Dr. Tapas Kumar Mondal, a distinguished academic from Dr. Bhupendra Nath Dutta Smriti Mahavidyalaya, Department of Mathematics, University of Burdwan. His lecture on “Semiring and its Importance in Technological Achievements” fascinated the audience as he explored the mathematical concept of semirings and their role in technological innovations, particularly in computer science and engineering.
The event’s success was largely due to the meticulous efforts of the NSS team. The President, Vice-President, and all the members of the NSS team worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth execution of the program, reflecting their dedication and commitment to the cause.
The entire program was conducted by Dr. Sudhir Jha, who ensured that each segment proceeded seamlessly. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. S. Bahadur, HOD of Science & Humanities. Dr. Bahadur expressed gratitude to all the speakers, attendees, and the organizing team for making the event a success.
