A grand and vibrant celebration was organized at the auditorium of RVS College of Engineering and Technology in Jamshedpur to mark the occasion of International Women’s Day. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Shivani Shrirala, an Anesthesiologist from Tata Main Hospital, who was invited as the chief guest for the day. The program commenced with a traditional lighting of the lamp, signifying the start of the event and the illumination of knowledge and wisdom. Following this, Mrs. Seema Sinha, the Deputy Registrar of the institution, warmly welcomed Dr. Shivani Shrirala by draping her in a shawl as a gesture of respect and honor. Dr. Rekha Tiwari also presented a beautiful bouquet of flowers to the chief guest, further enhancing the sense of celebration.

The stage was shared by a distinguished panel, including the college’s Treasurer, Mr. Shatrughan Singh, Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, and Dr. Shalini Kumari. In her address, Dr. Shivani Shrirala spoke eloquently about the important role women play in society. She highlighted the significance of incorporating self-care into daily routines, especially for women who often juggle multiple responsibilities, including managing households and contributing to the well-being of their communities. According to Dr. Shivani, a healthy society starts with the health of women, who are the backbone of every family and community.

In a heartwarming moment, the Principal of the college, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, declared Mrs. Seema Sinha as the “Woman of the Year,” acknowledging her exceptional contributions to the institution and her overall commitment to empowering women. The Principal also took a moment to congratulate all women present at the event for their immense contributions in various fields. Treasurer Mr. Shatrughan Singh also shared an inspiring message, emphasizing that no task is ever complete without the strength and power of women. He encouraged all women to pursue their ambitions and continue striving for excellence in their personal and professional lives.

To mark the joyous occasion, all the women present at the event were invited to cut a cake, which was shared among them as a symbol of solidarity and mutual support. The ceremony also saw the distribution of gifts to all the teaching and non-teaching staff members, adding a personal touch to the celebration. The event was expertly conducted by Prof. Shadan Bashar and Prof. Anita Giri, with assistance from an enthusiastic group of faculty members, including Prof. Kunal Sarkar, Prof. Deepak Tiwari, Dr. D.K. Haldar, Prof. Pranshu Sinha, Prof. Moni Mandal, and Prof. Pooja Dutta. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, proposed by Prof. Shadan Bashar, expressing gratitude to all the participants and guests for making the day memorable. The event served as a reminder of the strength, resilience, and contributions of women, not just on International Women’s Day, but every day.
