The NSS Wing of R.V.S. College of Engineering and Technology (RVSCET), Jamshedpur, in collaboration with the National Digital Library of India (NDLI) Club, celebrated World Athletic Day with enthusiasm on May 7, 2025. The event aimed to promote health, fitness, and environmental awareness among students through two athletic activities. The celebration began early in the morning with a Marathon Run at 6:00 AM for RVSCET students. Covering approximately 5 kilometers, the route extended from the RVS College Campus to Simuldanga Chowk near NH-33 and back. Forty students participated in this energetic run, reflecting their commitment to fitness and well-being.
Later, at 8:00 AM, a Cyclothon was held for students of Simuldanga High School, covering a 1-kilometer stretch from Edalbera to Pokhari village road. Twenty students took part, promoting not only physical activity but also eco-friendly practices. The events were coordinated by Dr. Rahidas Kumar and Prof. Rahul Ranjan, NSS Programme Officers, along with Mrs. Jaimala Dhruva Sundi of the NDLI Club. Faculty members and the Hostel Warden of RVSCET actively supported the event. Sri Ajay Kumar, Principal of Simuldanga High School, attended as Chief Guest. The celebration concluded on a high note, highlighting the importance of fitness and community spirit among youth.
