RVS College of Engineering & Technology inaugurated its three-day annual sports competition, “Frolic-2025,” with great enthusiasm and fervor. The inaugural ceremony was graced by the MLA of Ghatshila, Mr. Somesh Chandra Soren, who attended the event as the Chief Guest. The program was presided over by Mr. Binda Singh, Chairman, RVS Trust.

The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana. The Trust Chairman, Mr. Binda Singh, felicitated the Chief Guest, Mr. Somesh Chandra Soren, with a shawl and memento. On the occasion, the Trust Secretary, Mr. Bharat Singh, honored former Zila Parishad member Mr. Pintu Dutta with a shawl and memento.

Welcoming the dignitaries, Principal Prof. Dr. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari highlighted the tradition, objectives, and importance of organizing Frolic as a platform for promoting sportsmanship and overall student development. In his address, Secretary Mr. Bharat Singh fondly remembered former Ghatshila MLA and Minister Late Mr. Ram Das Soren, recalling his valuable contributions to the growth of the institution. He extended his best wishes to the Chief Guest and emphasized the vital role of sports in shaping discipline, teamwork, and leadership among students.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Mr. Somesh Chandra Soren paid tribute to his father, Late Ram Das Soren, and spoke about his close association with the college. He assured his full support for the continued development of the institution. The Chief Guest formally declared the inauguration of “Frolic-2025” by releasing bunches of balloons into the air.

Also present on the occasion were College Treasurer Mr. Shatrughan Singh, Governing Body Member Mr. Shakti Singh, and T&P Head Prof. Dr. Vikram Sharma. The stage proceedings were smoothly conducted by Dr. Sudhir Jha.

  • Boys’ Chess: Shivam (Logical House) defeated Shad Jasim (Power House)

  • Girls’ Chess: Afifa Tauheed (Logical House) defeated Neha Kumari (Torque House)

  • Cricket Semifinals:

    • Logical House defeated Silicon House

    • Concrete House defeated Torque House

At the time of reporting, the semifinal matches of football, volleyball, and basketball were in progress.
