The NSS unit of R.V.S. College of Engineering and Technology, Jamshedpur, in collaboration with the Lions Club of Jamshedpur, India (Simuldanga), organized a free community eye check-up camp on September 20, 2025, at Simuldanga High School, located in East Singhbhum, Jharkhand. The initiative was aimed at providing essential eye care services to the residents of Simuldanga village.

Medical support for the camp was provided by Care Netram Good Vision and Trinetram Eye Hospital, Adityapur, Jamshedpur. A total of 110 patients underwent comprehensive eye examinations. Among them, 20 individuals were provided with spectacles at subsidized rates, ensuring that the benefits of the camp reached those in need.

The camp was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, Principal of the college, and Dr. Sudhir Jha, Chief Warden. Both dignitaries emphasized the importance of such outreach programs in improving healthcare accessibility for rural communities.

The camp was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Dilip Kumar Haldar, NSS Program Officer, with the dedicated support of faculty members including Dr. Subrata Mahato, Prof. Kunal Sarkar, Prof. G.S. Paul, Prof. Sunanda Kar, and Dr. Suman Sinha, along with enthusiastic NSS student volunteers.

Mr. Bharat Singh, Secretary of R.V.S. Educational Trust and Zonal Chief of Lions Club of India (Bharat), expressed his satisfaction with the successful execution of the camp. He highlighted that such initiatives foster public welfare and strengthen social trust.

The medical team, including Dr. Krishna Kumar, technical assistants Zeenat Parveen and Madhu Kumari, and support staff Pooja Kumari and Mohammad Danish, played a crucial role in delivering effective care.

The eye camp reflected the college’s and NSS unit’s commitment to social responsibility and community health development.
