A comprehensive financial awareness program took place at RVS College of Engineering and Technology, facilitated through a collaborative effort with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Honorably gracing the event was Mr. Ranjan Prasad Singh, the esteemed Regional Director of RBI, Jharkhand, who served as the chief guest, alongside Mr. Alfred Girish Tirki, the Assistant General Manager of the same institution, acting as the special guest. The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome extended by the college administration, represented by the Dean of Academics, Dr. Sharat Chandra Mahto, and the Dean of Administration, Prof. Krishna Murari, who honored the guests with bouquets, symbolizing respect and appreciation. As a gesture of recognition, the institution’s Treasurer, Mr. Shatrughan Singh, presented the chief guest, Mr. Singh, with a shawl, memento, and an elegant diary, while Prof. Dr. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, the Principal, honored Mr. Tirki in a similar fashion. The program commenced traditionally with the lighting of a lamp, underscoring the significance of knowledge and learning. In his address to the gathered students, Mr. Singh cited the pivotal role of the RBI since its inception in 1935, highlighting its contributions to the country’s economic landscape and emphasizing the necessity of adept financial management for personal and professional success. Engaging with the students, he discussed measures to achieve financial security and the importance of managing and enhancing finances amid the growing influence of technology. Mr. Tirki followed with insights into the emerging challenges in financial management, providing practical solutions tailored to future engineers eager to navigate this complex landscape. In his welcome remarks, Prof. Tiwari articulated the primary objectives of the program, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to cultivating financial literacy. Mr. Shatrughan Singh echoed this sentiment, stating that such educational initiatives are vital for grasping the nuances of financial management and advocating for regular programming to keep pace with evolving regulations. The event culminated in an interactive quiz competition, which not only tested students’ knowledge but also sparked excitement among participants. Following the quiz, the RBI director took part in a tree-planting initiative on campus, symbolising a commitment to both growth and sustainability. The winning students received well-deserved prizes, including diaries, pens, and sweet packets, creating a festive atmosphere. Additionally, a dedicated session regarding career opportunities within the RBI enriched the experience for attendees, with notable participation from aspiring candidates like Mr. Amit Kumar, Mr. Roshan Kumar Girija, Miss Harshita Somlok, and Sonam Kumar Sham.
