The three-day sports event Frolic 2024 kicked off at RVS College of Engineering and Technology with an inaugural session chaired by Mr. Binda Singh, President of the RVS Educational Trust. The ceremony was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including the Chief Guest, Mr. Kishore Kaushal, Senior Superintendent of Police, East Singhbhum, Jamshedpur. Dr. Nagendra Singh, a senior surgeon at Ganga Memorial Hospital, and the Principal of Cooperative College, Jamshedpur, were also present as special guests.

The guests were warmly welcomed by Mr. Binda Singh, Mr. Bharat Singh, Secretary of the Trust, Mr. Shatrughan Singh, Treasurer, and BOG member Sri Shakti Singh, who presented them with shawls, mementos, and floral bouquets. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries.

In his welcome address, Prof. Dr. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, Principal of the college, highlighted recent developments and activities at the institution. Chief Guest Mr. Kishore Kaushal urged the students to focus on acquiring both technical knowledge and practical skills. He emphasized the significance of English proficiency, stressing its role in the corporate world, and encouraged students to utilize their free time for sports, promoting a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

Mr. Bharat Singh, Secretary of the Institute, reiterated the college’s commitment to the all-round development of its students. He mentioned that, in addition to academics, the college offers extensive sports facilities, ensuring that students, particularly those in hostels, actively participate in sports throughout the year.

Dr. Amar Singh, Principal of Cooperative College, Jamshedpur, spoke about the potential for success in sports, while Dr. Nagendra Singh, Senior Surgeon at Ganga Memorial Hospital, urged students to avoid addiction and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

To mark the official opening of Frolic 2024, the chief guest and other dignitaries released a bundle of balloons into the sky. The inaugural session was concluded with the formal declaration of the event’s opening by Mr. Kishore Kaushal.

Following the inauguration, a lecture on drug addiction, organized by NDLI in collaboration with RVS College of Engineering and Technology, was delivered by Dr. Nagendra Singh. The session was expertly conducted by Dr. Sudhir Jha.

RVS College of Engineering’s Frolic 2024 – Day 2
The second day of Frolic 2024 at RVS College of Engineering and Technology continued with great enthusiasm. The event was graced by Sihan L. Nageshwar Rao, Chief Coach of Tata Steel Karate Center, as the chief guest. Special guests included Mr. Navneet Chowdhury, Regional Chairperson of Lions International, and Mr. Sanjay Pandey, Zonal Chairperson of Jamshedpur.

The distinguished guests were warmly welcomed by Mr. Bharat Singh, Secretary of RVS Educational Trust and District Chairperson (Youth) of Lions Club International, along with college governing body member Mr. Shakti Singh and Placement Head Dr. Vikram Sharma. The guests were presented with shawls and mementos as a gesture of appreciation.

While introducing the guests, Mr. Bharat Singh shared some impressive accomplishments of Mr. Nageshwar Rao. He highlighted that Mr. Rao is an internationally renowned karate player who had the honor of serving as the Head Coach at the World Karate Championship in Japan, organized by the Japanese government. Mr. Rao also coached the Indian team during the 2010 Asian Karate Championship held in China.

In his address, Mr. Nageshwar Rao encouraged the students, especially those involved with the college’s NSS wing, to make regular participation in sports a part of their routine for promoting physical and mental well-being. He also praised the college’s excellent sports infrastructure and offered to provide training to students. Mr. Shatrughan Singh, the college treasurer, expressed his gratitude for this generous offer.

During the event, Mr. Navneet Chowdhury and Mr. Sanjay Pandey addressed the NSS volunteers, motivating them for their continued efforts. The event was a joint initiative of Lions International and the college’s NSS wing.

In addition to the speeches, the results of various sports competitions were announced:

  • Basketball (Girls’ Final): Electronics and Electrical Engineering won with a score of 24-02.
  • Football (Final): Mechanical Engineering triumphed with a score of 02-01.

    • 3rd Place: Electronics and Communication Engineering

The day’s activities were filled with excitement and enthusiasm as the students showcased their talents and sportsmanship.

Conclusion of Frolic 2024 at RVS College of Engineering

The highly anticipated Frolic 2024 event at RVS College of Engineering and Technology came to a grand conclusion today. The closing ceremony was attended by several distinguished guests, including Mr. Binda Singh, President of RVS Educational Trust, who highlighted the college’s efforts in establishing state-of-the-art sports infrastructure on campus to benefit students.

The stage was graced by prominent figures such as Lion Seema Bajpayee, District Governor of Lions Club International; Mr. Jai Prakash Rai, Editor of Chamakta Aina; Mr. Bharat Singh, Secretary of RVS Educational Trust; Mr. Shatrughan Singh, Treasurer; Mr. Shakti Singh, Governing Body Member; and Prof. Dr. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, Principal of the college. The Secretary, Mr. Bharat Singh, welcomed the esteemed guests, and the Principal honored them with shawls and mementos as a mark of respect.

Seema Bajpayee praised the college’s exceptional sports infrastructure, commending the management for their commitment to providing such facilities for students’ development. Mr. Binda Singh then presented medals and certificates to the winners and runners-up of the various competitions held throughout the event. The results were as follows:
