R.V.S. College of Engineering and Technology recently organized a one-day seminar focused on Personal Health & Hygiene, specifically designed for young girls aged between 6 to 12 years. This impactful event aimed to raise awareness about critical health and hygiene issues among young children, especially in rural and tribal regions where access to such knowledge and resources remains limited.
The seminar was graced by the presence of Mr. Shatrughan Singh, Treasurer of the R.V.S. Trust, who served as the Chief Guest. In his inaugural address, Mr. Singh emphasized the importance of conducting awareness programs in rural and tribal communities, where discussions around personal health and hygiene are often overlooked. He applauded the efforts of the college in taking proactive steps to bridge this gap and create a platform for learning and awareness among young girls.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Meha, a distinguished health professional from Meherbai Tata Memorial Hospital. Dr. Meha conducted an informative and engaging session, educating the participants about essential topics such as daily hygiene practices, balanced nutrition, menstrual health and hygiene, prevention of communicable diseases, and personal safety. Her talk was tailored to the understanding level of young students and aimed to instill lifelong healthy habits.
Adding to the significance of the event, Ms. Shipra Singh, a special guest, addressed the students and encouraged them to adopt healthy routines and to speak openly about health-related issues with their parents or medical professionals. She stressed the need for open communication, which can play a vital role in early detection and prevention of health problems.
The event witnessed active participation from students of nearby schools, who engaged enthusiastically in the interactive sessions. Through this initiative, R.V.S. College reaffirmed its commitment to community welfare and the holistic development of future generations.
This seminar was a meaningful step toward empowering young girls with the knowledge and confidence to take charge of their personal health and well-being.
