The two-day inter-college sports competition “Kreedanakam” was inaugurated with great enthusiasm and sportsmanly spirit at RVS College of Engineering and Technology. The opening ceremony was graced by Shri Binda Singh, Chairman of RVS Educational Trust, who attended the event as the Chief Guest. He was accompanied on the dais by Shri Shatrughan Singh, Treasurer of the Trust, Principal Prof. Dr. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, Head of Training and Placement Dr. Vikram Sharma, and Event In-Charge Dr. Sushant Mohanty.
All the distinguished guests were warmly welcomed on stage with the presentation of saplings, symbolizing growth, sustainability, and a greener future. On this occasion, Principal Prof. Dr. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari felicitated the Chairman, Shri Binda Singh, by presenting him with a shawl and a memento as a mark of respect and appreciation. The competition was formally inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries.
While addressing the gathering, Prof. Dr. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari emphasized the true spirit of sports. He stated that while competitions naturally involve both victory and defeat, sportsmanship and discipline should always prevail. He encouraged all participants to maintain healthy competition, mutual respect, and harmony, and reminded them that the decision of the referee or judge in every event would be final.
Teams from several reputed colleges and institutions across the city are participating in boys’ and girls’ events such as basketball, volleyball, badminton, cricket, and football. Participating institutions include NIT Jamshedpur, Arka Jain University, Srinath University, Al Kabir Polytechnic, Karim City College, Co-operative College, Netaji Subhas University, XIT College, ABM College, KMPM Vocational College, and others.
At the end of the first day, Treasurer Shri Shatrughan Singh highlighted the importance of such competitions in nurturing a healthy competitive spirit among the youth, which plays a vital role in shaping their future. He expressed satisfaction over the smooth and successful conduct of the event by the organizing committee. The inaugural program was efficiently hosted by student anchors Rishi Raj and Zoya Akhtar.
