RVS College of Engineering and Technology marked World Environment Day with a vibrant celebration organized by the Eco Club in collaboration with the NSS Wing. The event aimed to spread awareness about environmental conservation and promote sustainable practices among students and staff.
Dr. Awadhesh Kumar Chaudhary, Associate Dean of NIT Jamshedpur, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. He was warmly welcomed by Dr. Rajesh Kumar Paswan, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, and Dr. Dilip Kumar Haldar, Chief Programme Officer of the NSS Wing, with the presentation of a sapling. Mr. Shatrughan Singh, Treasurer of RVSCET, also honoured the Chief Guest with a memento.
The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries including Dr. Rajesh Kumar Tiwari, Principal of the college, Dr. Vikram Sharma, Head of Training and Placement, and Prof. Krishna Murari, Dean of Administration.
In his welcome address, Principal Dr. Tiwari emphasized the urgent need for environmental conservation, stating that we are living in increasingly toxic surroundings. He warned that neglecting the environment today could lead to severe consequences for future generations.
Chief Guest Dr. Chaudhary highlighted the adverse effects of changing environmental patterns and stressed the importance of regular tree plantation. He remarked that while daily tree planting may not be feasible, consistent efforts can significantly contribute to environmental preservation.
The event concluded with an enthusiastic tree plantation drive on the college campus, where faculty, staff, and students actively participated alongside the dignitaries. The celebration served as a powerful reminder of our collective responsibility to protect the environment for a sustainable future.
