Feliz Navidad!

Feliz Navidad!

Feliz Navidad!

Prospero Ano y Felicidad!

The beautiful Spanish hymn we used to chant during our childhood days, still comes in our mind rhyming, wrenching our hearts soon as Christmas comes; to pray for happiness spreading all over the world and wishing each a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

On this beautiful midnight of December 24, the city Bethlehem was blessed with prosperity as Mother Mary and Father Joseph arrived in the city where Mother Mary gave birth to ‘The Christ Child- Jesus’ in a stable.

According to the Roman Catholic and Georgian Calendars on this very day, ‘The Birth Day of Jesus Christ’ is celebrated as ‘Christmas’ on December 25 every year, when the world celebrates this day as a grand extravaganza as Xmas by gifting presents to family members and friends, cutting cakes, doing parties, praying for health and happiness, and also by decorating the house with lights, balloons and most popularly ‘The Xmas Tree’.

Once a year, on Christmas eve, the most beloved Santa arrives: Oh, yeah! Which child in his lifetime didn’t wish to meet Santa on the Christmas Night and get his blessings (and presents too)! Remember, how we used to hang our socks on the windows, keep it under our pillow so that Santa Claus could leave sweets and gifts? And with each December 25 morning, the little happy feet ran to check the presents. Oh, the delight to find just what we wanted, lying on the foot of the bed in the morning and the countless thank yous to our Santa, the eagerness to play with the new addition to the collection, and the excitement to share the news with our friends. Such were childhood Christmas mornings then!

To this day, when the air is chilled, the town is red, and festivities and happiness spring, we know that it’s Christmas! Every Christmas brings back our never-ending childhood stories while making new memories which we will remember till our last breath. We pray to the Almighty, ‘The days we lived, the present generation does too; with all warmth in their hearts, prayers for Jesus and love for Santa’.

We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
